Stitch and fiber

Sewing and fiber arts turn fabric, thread, and cord into clothing, décor, and soft goods—by machine and by hand.

You cut patterns, stitch seams, embroider details, and knot fiber into texture. Some work is precise and measured; some is meditative and repetitive.

Projects include garments, quilts, bags, patches, embroidery, and macramé or other fiber pieces that live on a wall or in a room.

At Rochester Makerspace, members train in the sewing and fiber area, then reserve machines like the embroidery unit when a booking is required.
